HOTLINE ON CAN TV21

Bring your message directly to Chicagoans with a live, call-in show on CAN TV21 and online.

 

  • Answer callers’ questions on the air and on our live stream.
  • Adapt the discussion to your audience.
  • Address timely issues.

How it Works
Get the immediacy of live video without having to learn elaborate production techniques. One representative of your nonprofit hosts the program and talks with callers on the air, while another member of your group answers the phone. You can display documents, visual aids and contact information on an overhead camera. Your program will be shown simultaneously on cable on CAN TV21 and online on our website at cantv.org/live.

 

Training
To participate in CAN TV21’s HOTLINE service, at least three members of your organization must attend a one-day training session, scheduled at your convenience. Training costs $50 per person. Two trained people must be present for each Hotline episode.

 

Scheduling
HOTLINE shows run weekday afternoons and evenings on CAN TV21. Each participating group is eligible for one weekly, half-hour, 13-week series per year.

 

Rental
The HOTLINE studio is also available at certain times at a cost of $125 per half hour. CAN TV provides technical support for rentals.

 

To use HOTLINE a client must

  • Be a certified nonprofit
  • Have a Chicago street address
  • Be a CAN TV organizational member
  • Sign a Channel Time User Agreement
