Kenneth Jones 

Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Equity Officer
MacArthur Foundation

Ken is responsible for all aspects of the finance, accounting, tax, audit, information technology, administrative services, core services and facilities functions for the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation as the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Ken also serves as the Chief Equity Officer which focuses on the DEI initiatives for the foundation. 

Prior to joining the MacArthur Foundation, Ken was the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the Annie E. Casey Foundation. In this role, he oversaw the Finance, Grants Management, Business Technology and Facilities & Operations functions as well as the disaster recovery & relief process for the Foundation. He traveled extensively in Africa as CFO for Danya International (as well as serving as President for Zebrajobs, a Danya International affiliate), a public health and education organization and Jhpiego, a nonprofit international health affiliate of Johns Hopkins University. Ken held previously corporate finance positions at the Ford Motor Company, the Pfizer Corporation, Mirant Corporation, and the Prudential.

Ken received his Master of Business Administration degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management, a master’s degree in applied economics from the University at Buffalo and a bachelor’s degree from Boston University.

Currently, Ken serves on the boards of the Mission Investors Exchange (past Chair), the Southern Education Foundation (Chair), the Center for Urban Families (Chair), Collegian Directions, Episcopal Relief & Development, Virginia Union University, the Schott Foundation, Green Healthy Homes Inc., American Student Assistance, the Joint Center, Atlanta Wealth Business Institute, and Corus (Chair). 

Ken is a Who’s Who Black Baltimore recipient, Arthur Vining Davis Fellow for the Aspen Ideas Festival, Presidential Scholar at Concordia College – New York, Smart CEO Magazine Executive Management Award recipient, DCA Live Star CFO awardee, Daniel Burnham Fellowship recipient (Chicago Leadership), Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. IMAGE Award in Business awardee and Association of Black Foundation Executive’s James Joseph Lecturer awardee.

Established by the City of Chicago in 1983 to maximize the involvement of Chicago residents and groups in cable television, CAN TV delivers over 140 hours of original, hyper-local programming each week. Additionally, CAN TV provides coverage of events relevant to the local community and gives every Chicagoan a voice on cable television by providing video training, facilities, equipment, and channel time for Chicago residents and nonprofit groups. CAN TV's five local cable channels (CAN TV 19, 21, 27, 36, and 42) reach more than one million viewers in the city of Chicago.
